Gut Renovation | Residential Interior Architecture & Design | Project Management This residential project began with a clear understanding of the client’s desire for a thoughtfully designed pied-à-terre in New York City—a home that would feel both effortless and complete during their time in the city. As a full gut renovation, the goal was to create a space that could support both quiet personal use and comfortable entertaining, while reflecting the timeless character of the pre-war building. The design process focused on creating distinct yet connected zones within the apartment, with careful attention to circulation and flow from the moment you entered. Every furnishing was custom-designed to fit the scale and proportions of the space, allowing each area to feel intentional and highly functional. The kitchen, though compact, was fully designed to accommodate complete meal preparation, supporting both entertaining and everyday enjoyment. The living room was anchored by a custom fireplace wall and integrated wall unit that provides space for books, storage, and media. A centralized bar area and hidden storage were thoughtfully incorporated, enhancing both function and ease of use. The bedroom includes a custom-designed closet, while the guest room features a beautifully tailored daybed, allowing flexibility without compromising comfort. A custom-designed bathroom completes the space, reflecting both function and refined detail. The final home feels warm, balanced, and quietly sophisticated. Custom paint colors, window treatments, flooring, and layered materials were selected to complement the pre-war architectural details, creating a cohesive and timeless environment. Furnishings, lighting, art, and accessories bring personality and softness to the space, resulting in a home that feels welcoming, complete, and effortlessly livable—a true retreat for the client whenever they are in New York City. A space designed to welcome you in, reflect who you are, and evolve beautifully as life unfolds.
