Gut Renovation | Residential Interior Architecture & Design | Manage Design Installations This project marked the third collaboration with this client, reflecting a trusted and evolving relationship built over time. Our work together began with the design of Sound Lounge Recording Studios, followed by a refresh of their existing residence, and ultimately led to this full gut renovation of a historic warehouse building in Tribeca—originally known as a chicken factory. With each project, our understanding of the client’s lifestyle and design sensibility deepened, allowing for a highly intuitive and personalized approach. What made this particular second-floor unit unique was its private elevator access, opening directly into the home and establishing a sense of arrival from the moment you entered. The entry sequence was fully designed with handmade solid walnut doors, complemented by custom walnut moldings and trim that continued throughout the apartment, creating a cohesive and richly detailed architectural language. New windows were introduced to enhance light and proportion, while the space plan unfolded into a fully integrated kitchen and dining area, leading into a large, open living space anchored by a custom fireplace wall. A library nook was thoughtfully incorporated, offering a quieter, more intimate moment within the openness of the home, while a hallway transitions naturally into the private bedroom areas. The design embraced the building’s industrial history by exposing original brickwork throughout, allowing the architecture to speak while layering in modern, clean-lined elements. Two distinct bedrooms and bathrooms were carefully designed to balance function and comfort, each complemented by customized closets tailored to the client’s daily needs. The result is a home that feels both grounded in its history and refined for contemporary living—open, warm, and deeply personal, with furnishings, lighting, art, and accessories completing the experience. Where form and function come together to create a home that feels effortless, personal, and enduring.
