Cobble Hill, NYC

Interior Refresh | Residential Interior Architecture & Design | Project Management The beauty of a Brooklyn brownstone lies in its journey—from the front stoop through to the uppermost floor—each level carrying its own purpose while contributing to the story of the home as a whole. Having the opportunity to work within such a residence is both a privilege and a responsibility. This project reflects a long-standing relationship with a repeat client, spanning multiple phases of design work over time, both within their primary Brooklyn residence and their upstate home. Rather than a single renovation, this project unfolded as an ongoing series of thoughtfully executed refreshes throughout the home. Each phase focused on different spaces as the family’s needs evolved—ranging from the primary bedroom, library, and home office to children’s bedrooms, a playroom, guest room, and main living areas. Additional layers included updated paint colors, stairway carpeting, new lighting, window treatments, refreshed bathrooms, and curated furnishings. The design extended into the details of everyday living, incorporating new bedding, bath linens, kitchen tableware, cookware, holiday décor, and comprehensive home organization—ensuring that both function and beauty were addressed at every level. Over the course of decades, as the children grew and eventually moved on, the home itself evolved—rooms were reimagined and repurposed to meet new lifestyles and priorities. Each phase was approached through close collaboration with the owner, carefully balancing aesthetic continuity with the distinct needs of each floor. The design always remained grounded in the home’s original architectural character, honoring its nearly 125-year history in Cobble Hill while introducing thoughtful updates that kept the space relevant, livable, and refined. The result is a home that feels layered, personal, and enduring—an environment that has grown alongside the family it serves, adapting gracefully over time while maintaining its historic integrity.
